Explore Sorrento Real Estate
Sorrento is a small, suburban area, and its real estate market consists primarily of single-family homes. This area, as a whole, encompasses a range of home styles and price points, even within the same neighborhoods. In general, however, Sorrento's homes are typically larger in square footage and situated on larger lots than some of the other cities in the area—which makes this community a little bit of a hidden gem.
In regards to architecture, buyers will find a lot of the familiar Central Florida styles, often with open floor plans and lanai that lead out into substantial backyard spaces, perfect for entertaining. Single-story homes are more frequently constructed, however the loft-styles are popular in a few of Sorrento's new neighborhoods. Additionally, there are multi-story options for interested buyers. Multiple bedrooms and bathrooms make these properties excellent family homes, though there's always the potential to make a space bedroom into an office space, fitness studio, or game room.
New communities are popping up in Sorrento. One of the most desirable and well-known neighborhoods is Red Tail, which is a gated golf course community located off of Sorrento Avenue. With almost four hundred properties (and a few still in the last stages of construction), this neighborhood attracts many buyers for the amenities (including a clubhouse), the private location, and the beautiful homes that overlook the course. Homes for sale in Red Tail also range in price point, from more affordable single-family homes to estates.
Although Sorrento may not have the multitude of lakefront properties for sale on the market that other regions in Central Florida do, this community does offer acreage at a lower price point. This community also occasionally features ranches and historic properties on the market, as well as luxury custom homes.
Sorrento Highlights & Amenities
One of Sorrento's biggest draws is its location away from the hustle and bustle of surrounding cities. Residents have access, via the 46 and the 429, to the region's larger communities and attractions, including Winter Garden, Orlando, and Disney. Sorrento residents are primarily commuters.
There are a few highlights right within the community. Sorrento Elementary School is the area's public institution, which backs onto the East Lake Sports & Community Complex—which has basketball courts, four baseball diamonds, sports fields, a playground, and a mini library. Red Tail Golf Club is Sorrento's premier golf course and almost five hundred acres in size. The northeast of Sorrento is home to the Seminole State Forest, which offers camping, fishing, boating, and hiking opportunities.
